A partnership concept

A Commanders Pay It Forward Day

One game day. Thousands of small kindnesses. TRAKNIT tracks every deed as fans pass it forward — and turns the ripple into a live map the whole region can watch.

Where this came from

An idea that waited 30 years for the right form.

In 1996, Kevin Robinson pictured a simple chain: one person does something kind for another, the next person passes it on, and the ripple becomes visible. In 2013, a friend read the outline and said, "This is a freakin' movie." In 2026, that same idea became TRAKNIT — a live app that tracks every deed, every city, and every new link in the chain. The Commanders Pay It Forward Day is the next chapter.

How the day works

Four steps from kickoff to a map full of kindness.

Step 1

Cards in hands

Fans receive a Commanders-branded kindness card at the stadium, at community events, or with a partner's coffee. Each card carries a QR code and a simple instruction: do something kind, then pass this card on.

Step 2

Deeds get logged

Each person scans the code, logs the good deed they did or received in seconds, and hands the card to the next person. No app download, no account required.

Step 3

The chain spreads

Every deed links to the one before it, building a visible Chain of Kindness that fans share to Facebook and beyond — each share carrying the Commanders' name with it.

Step 4

Impact goes live

A public impact map lights up city by city as the ripple spreads from Landover across the DMV and the country. The team gets a real-time, measurable story of community good.

The Jumbotron moment

During the game, the stadium screen becomes a live scoreboard for kindness. Fans see the chain grow in real time — and feel the pressure to keep it moving.

"Every movement begins with one person. Why not you?"
Q1

First quarter timeout

The map appears. 'Commanders fans are already passing it forward in 4 cities.'

Q2

Halftime

Live check-in: '47 deeds logged. Can we make it 100 before the 4th quarter?'

Q3

Third quarter

Hometown pride: 'DMV, you're leading — but fans in 3 other states just joined.'

Q4

Post-game

Final reveal: 'One game. One chain. [X] kindnesses. [Y] cities. Why not you?'

What the Commanders get

  • A measurable community activation: deeds logged, cities reached, chains started — numbers the team can publish.
  • A feel-good social engine: every shared deed is organic, positive Commanders content created by fans themselves.
  • A legacy story that outlives the day: chains keep branching long after the final whistle.
  • Low lift to run: TRAKNIT handles the tracking; the team hands out cards and starts the first deeds.

The card fans would carry

Commanders-branded cards printed from the TRAKNIT campaign kit — logo, code, QR, and one instruction:

"Someone was kind to you. Scan this, log it, do something kind for someone else — and pass this card on."
Print the Commanders card sheet

Commanders-branded card sheet

One Commanders chain code sits behind every card, and each card also carries its own number. Everything traces back to the same starting point, but you can still see which individual card travelled the furthest. Print on card stock, then cut and laminate. One sheet makes 8 cards.

Add the Commanders chain code above and every card will point to that one chain.

Where each card started

As deeds get logged, every card shows its own running total here — including the deeds that grew from it further down the chain.

No card deeds logged yet. Once someone scans a numbered card, it appears here with the cities it reached.

Team marks shown for concept purposes only, pending Commanders approval.

A Commanders Pay It Forward Day — one card per fan, a live map of kindness

Hi [Name],

I'm Kevin Robinson, founder of TRAKNIT. I'd like to propose a Commanders Pay It Forward Day — a single game day that turns thousands of small kindnesses into one visible, measurable story for the team.

How it works

  • One card per person. Every fan gets a Commanders-branded card with its own number and QR code.
  • They do something kind for someone, then hand that person the card.
  • The next person scans it, logs the deed in seconds — no app, no account — and passes it on.
  • Every deed links to the one before it, so each card builds a visible Chain of Kindness.

Jumbotron check-ins

  • Q1 timeout: “Commanders fans are already passing it forward in 4 cities.”
  • Halftime: “47 deeds logged. Can we make it 100 before the 4th quarter?”
  • Q3: “DMV, you're leading — but fans in 3 other states just joined.”
  • Post-game: “One game. One chain. [X] kindnesses. [Y] cities. Why not you?”

What the team gets

  • Real numbers to publish: deeds logged, cities reached, chains started.
  • Organic, positive Commanders content created by fans themselves.
  • A legacy story — chains keep branching long after the final whistle.
  • Low lift: TRAKNIT handles the tracking; the team hands out cards and starts the first deeds.

Sponsor-funded

Card printing and the activation can be underwritten entirely by one of the Commanders' existing sponsors. Their mark sits alongside the team's on every card, and they get credited on the live impact map and in every shared deed — a genuine community program rather than an ad.

I'd welcome 15 minutes to walk your community relations team through it.

Short version (LinkedIn message or intro note)

Hi [Name] — I'm Kevin Robinson, founder of TRAKNIT. I'd love to run a Commanders Pay It Forward Day: every fan gets one Commanders-branded card with its own number and QR code, does something kind, and passes it on. Each scan logs the deed in seconds (no app needed) and grows a live Chain of Kindness on a public map — perfect for Jumbotron check-ins through the game and easily underwritten by one of your sponsors.
